Saskia Heijnen is a PhD candidate at the Cognitive Psychology Unit. She studied Cognitive Neuroscience (research master, cum laude) at Leiden University. Under supervision of Prof. dr. Bernhard Hommel and dr. Roberta Sellaro, she investigates metacontrol state, the balance between persistence and flexibility, in a project funded by a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant. Additionally, she has completed a pre-master in philosophy, and is pursuing a degree in Philosophy of Psychology, also at Leiden University.
