Roel van Dooren

Phd student, funded by the European Research Council

Roel van Dooren is a PhD student at the Cognitive Psychology Unit, Leiden University (The Netherlands) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hommel. In his PhD project, which is part of the ERC-funded Meta Control project of Bernhard Hommel, he is currently working on the questions how metacontrol policies are situationally acquired, and, more specifically, how associated “natural” behavioral cues (e.g., facial expressions and pupil dilation) of persistence-biased versus flexibility-biased control policies can be identified and validated.
