Chenyan Zhang

PhD student, funded by the Chinese Scholarship Council 

    Chenyan Zhang is a PhD student at the Cognitive Psychology Unit, Leiden University (The Netherlands) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hommel and Dr. Roberta Sellaro. During her master’s program in Southwest University, China, she worked at cognitive and neural mechanism of procrastination decision-making. In her PhD project, which is part of the ERC-funded Meta Control project of Bernhard Hommel, she investigates the link between metacontrol and ego depletion. Her research focuses on the possible role of the time/effort spent on self-unrelated, unrewarding tasks in metacontrol.
